The project is born from an imaginary comparison between Merce Cunningham and Michael Jackson as two revolutionary dance artists. The work investigates the transmission of dance and how people can embody dance movements from different sources. Michael Jackson is a world dance icon, he created the most imitated steps ever. Merce Cunningham’s subject was a specific dance codification, an artificial dance away from any consumer satisfaction, showing the restraint immanent to movement and dance as pure activity of the body.
