For this project, Marion Menan started with a single word, répétition, which means both rehearsal and repetition in French. Repeating the process of construction and of documentation, convinced that the end is still to come, as if this is a taste of something that will never arrive. Yet we find ourselves slowly transported into a complete landscape, in which the stage becomes an extension of a screen, and into a performance that has the flavour of a melancholic and nocturnal wandering along the non-linear roads of Google.
After a master in literature and theater, Marion Menan turned toward performance, studing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Her work can be placed at the intersection of installation, movement and theatrical representation, focused mainly on the spectator’s desire for fiction, his will to believe.
