apap – advancing performing arts project è una rete internazionale di 11 organizzazioni culturali provenienti da tutta Europa fondata nel 2000. Finanziata da diversi programmi culturali dell’UE, apap è riuscita a collaborare continuativamente per supportare un numero elevato di artisti e sviluppare nuovi format in base alle mutazioni delle pratiche artistiche nel corso degli anni.
Il nuovo progetto apap – FEMINIST FUTURES punta a un’impresa ancora più ambiziosa: avviare potenti cambiamenti sociali attraverso l’arte. L’obiettivo principale del progetto è affrontare la disuguaglianza nelle arti performative contemporanee, utilizzando il corpo di pensiero consolidato dal termine Femminismo Intersezionale per trovare risposte strutturali concrete e sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica. Non solo artisti, opere d’arte e format operano sotto questo focus, ma anche la rete stessa, ogni partner con il proprio metodo di lavoro e le sue relazioni, si considera oggetto di analisi e riflessione alla luce di questo pensiero.

apap – advancing performing arts project is an international network of 11 cultural organisations from all over Europe. The network exists since 2000. Funded by different EU cultural programmes apap has managed to collaborate continuously on supporting a high number of artists as well as developing new formats according to changing artistic practices and needs throughout the years.
The new project apap – FEMINIST FUTURES aims for an even more ambitious undertaking: initiate powerful social changes through art. The main goal of the project is to address inequality in the contemporary Performing Arts, using the body of thought consolidated by the term Intersectional Feminism to find concrete structural answers and raise public awareness. Not only artists, art works and formats operate under this focus, but also the network itself, each partner with their working methods and relations, considers themselves as object of inspection under this thematical umbrella.
